- JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks necessary for the maintenance of the facilities and grounds of the County park system. Works to maintain park system grounds and facilities. This is a seasonal non-exempt position. There is neither a guarantee of continual hours or guarantee of future employment, nor County benefits, except as mandated by state and federal law or as specifically referenced in the Personnel Policy Manual. Employment will not extend beyond 11/30/2026.
Hiring Wage Range: $17.00-$23.00
This is a safety-sensitive position.- TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates light vehicles/equipment to perform maintenance of park system grounds.
- Performs manual labor to maintain the appearance of the park system grounds, buildings and facilities.
- Assist with minor maintenance, construction, and repair to park facilities.
- Field collection and inspection of the location and attributes of the assets maintained by the Parks Department.
- Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 17 years of age.
- Available to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis throughout employment.
- A Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License.- SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, and pre-placement physical.
