Description: 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher - ABS ORONO HIGH SCHOOL
Job Summary:
- Work collaboratively with special services team members to support the academic, character, social and emotional growth of learners.
- Collaborate with IEP team members to design, coordinate, and deliver a rigorous and appropriate education for students with disabilities.
- Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional.
- Conduct and maintain due process paperwork according to District, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.
- Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students.
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching License required - MN Special Education License required.
- High level of Special Education due process expertise required.
- Experiene with with instructing students in Secondary Transition areas (employment, post-secondary and independent living skills)
- Demonstrate ability to facilitate meaningful discourse in IEP meetings.
- Experience working directly with students in classroom/resource room setting preferred.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
- Experience with curriculum, assessment, and accommodation design.
- Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
- Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.
- Workbased Learning License preferred.
Bargaining Group and Level: Orono Education Association/Teachers

BA Step 1 ($49,266) to EdS Step 20 ($105,958)
