Pay Range:

$24.40 - $33.55

Position Summary:

The Shipping Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective fulfillment of outbound orders. This role leads frontline associates engaged in picking, packing, loading, and shipping activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies, and customer requirements. The Team Lead serves as a key liaison between shipping, inventory, transportation, and customer service teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement in shipping performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily shipping and warehouse workflows, including picking, packing, staging, loading, and trailer management, to meet service-level and cutoff requirements

- Lead, coach, and develop shipping associates to drive productivity, accuracy, and engagement

- Assign daily work, monitor labor utilization, and adjust priorities based on volume, staffing, and carrier schedules

- Coordinate with Transportation, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Planning teams to resolve shipping issues and expedite urgent orders

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shortages, damages, mis-picks, carrier delays, and documentation errors

- Ensure outbound shipments comply with customer routing guides, carrier requirements, and internal quality standards

- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and system transactions within ERP/WMS systems

- Track and report on key shipping KPIs such as on-time shipment, dock-to-stock, productivity, and error rates

- Support onboarding, training, performance feedback, and corrective action processes for shipping associates

- Enforce warehouse safety standards, lead by example, and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment

- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to shipping efficiency, space utilization, packaging, and material flow

- Support implementation of new systems, tools, equipment, or process changes affecting shipping operations

- Handle sensitive employee matters and difficult conversations professionally, fostering trust and accountability within the team

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 or more years of relevant experience; or an associate degree preferred with 2-4 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for coordinating with associates, supervisors, and cross-functional partners
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple demands, and adapt quickly to changing volumes or priorities
  • Comfortable managing conflict and difficult conversations in a fair and consistent manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and data entry systems

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform frequent bending, reaching, and material handling tasks

- Comfortable working around forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and dock equipment
