    Early Childhood - Teaching Assistant
    Begins: June 8, 2026
    Multiple positions up to 27 hours/summer
    Per MSEA Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement
    $19.81-$22.25/hour - Category B

    TITLE: Early Childhood Teaching Assistant

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High school graduate or GED.
    2. Pre-school or child care experience.
    3. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
    4. Initiative to help out where needed.


    REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Early Learning

    JOB GOALS: To assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning Early Learning Program.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Support and monitor students in educational settings.
    2. Provide teacher support; objective observation, data keeping, and prepare and organize materials.
    3. Assist in implementing successful student programs as designed by education staff.
    4. Participate in program trainings provided.
    5. Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in cultural heritage, lifestyles, and value systems among students and families.
    6. Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or supervising teacher, specific to early childhood programming.
    7. Ability to work outside in all weather.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Rarely: 1 to 10%; Occasionally: 11 to 33%; Frequently: 34 to 66%; and Continuously: 67 to 100% of the workday.
